Can I just say that spiderverse has done such a good job with characterization and character driven storytelling and relationship building that there’s just SO many interesting ships? Even though the pacing is so fast the films still took time to spend on each of the spiderpeople (and spideranimals) enough so that character dynamics are interesting IN TEXT. like there’s no extrapolation or fandom accepted headcanons needed to start, yk?
They didn’t just assume that people would ship miles/gwen because they’re the main m and f leads. They spent time building that dynamic and relationship and it may be clear that they’ll eventually end up together (hopefully) but they didn’t just let us assume that. They still put effort into convincing us. And then I also love that even with such a big cast a lot of the side characters also had dynamics with other side characters, something that can be hard to add in at the right amount.
Like we get the feeling that Gwen admires Hobie and is friendly enough to Pav that she talked about Miles with him (they totally had sleepovers and painted eachothers nails and discussed boyfriends and girlfriends) and generally agrees with Peter B.
And hobie is, of course, looking out for everyone he cares about, goofy with Pav, supportive but not overprotective of Gwen, is honestly trying his best to stick up for Miles. Even in the first one even though most time is spent fleshing out Peter B’s story, the other spideys interact with eachother and generally don’t just act as one homogeneous blob of background characters.
The only dynamics there’s nothing for are the ones who haven’t met on screen yet. Every other relationship isn’t overlooked and there’s something to go off of for the shippers. Honestly I’m not really a multishipper but spiderverse has so many good options lol
BTSV better have Gwiles/Ghostflower canon by the end of the first half of the movie and the rest is just them being suckers in love like they’re supposed to be cuz it’s not just that I want them to end up together it’s that I want to actually see them being together and how they would act in a real canon relationship I need that and their friends shipping as always I need that too

This is probably me being extremely corny, BUT, I am convinced that if they were going to get married, Miles would propose (not because he is the guy but also because Gwen is, Gwen.) And how he would do it?
Art, of course.
After making the owner of the wall would be okay with it (if only to avoid having his art destroyed or similar later,) he makes an entire mural in one of the highest buildings in front of Central Park. He did it all in one night to make sure to be a surprise.
Getting Gwen on a romantic walk early in the morning (to make sure Gwen didn’t see it on the News and ruined the surprise.) And as they walk right beside each other, enjoying each other as the rest of the world doesn’t exist; Miles tells her how much she means to him and how happy they are of being together.
As they get closer to the pond, a bunch of lookouts are commenting on the beautiful art on display. An immense mural of dark night becomes lighter and more colorful as a morning sun appears in a valley of sunflowers. The graffiti reads “Will you marry me, mi sol?” (My sun.)
Gwen gasps as she recognizes the art style and the nickname.
When she turns around, Miles is on one knee with the ring in hand.
He doesn’t have the chance to actually pop up the question before Gwen screams “YES” and throws herself to him to kiss him.
And they get engaged with public clapping for the happy couple, unknown to them that two heroes of their city just got engaged.
I get it why Gwen missed Miles so much in ATSV cuz he made both her and Peter B want to get their lives back in order and recover but when Peter B went back home after ITSV he had MJ for that and soon Mayday but Gwen couldn’t get her Peter back like Peter B could get his MJ back. Miles wasn’t just someone who inspired her to move on, Miles was the person Gwen wanted to move on with but he wasn’t there anymore and she wanted him back.
